The Challenge
With over 3000 employees Victoria wide, this Victorian Government Agency operates within the bounds of a complex Enterprise Bargaining Agreement that dictates guidelines for progressing throughout the organisation, and eligibility for staff performance bonuses.
Hyperware Consulting was approached to facilitate the development of a streamlined Websphere Portal solution to reduce the administration overhead in following procedure, and enhance accountability and effectiveness. Moving the process from paper-based to electronic also provided an environmental advantage, greatly reducing paper waste throughout the process.
The Solution
In consultation with project stakeholders, Hyperware analysed and mapped the business processes. Using this information we built a successful and intuitive system that facilitated the move from paper based forms, to a new e-form solution, tailored to the needs of users and the organisation.
In developing the new application, Hyperware harnessed the power of WebSphere Portal, WebSphere Portlet Factory and Lotus Domino Server to deliver a system of un-paralleled quality, efficiency and reputation.
The Result
The new application, titled “PPD Online”, facilitates the creation, management and compliance reporting for performance, progression and development plans through the existing Portal and Domino infrastructure.
Directly responsible for raising productivity, increasing user satisfaction and improving the reputation for performance, progression and development processes, PPD Online has exceeded all expectations.
It is used on a daily basis throughout the organisation and is widely recognised as one of the most complex and successful Portlet Factory Development projects completed in Australia.
